TapSnap LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates the following products and services:

  • TapSnap — NFC-powered digital business cards and the TapSnap mobile application ("the App"), available at tapsnap.co
  • TapFive — NFC-powered Google review cards, stands, plates, and stickers for small businesses, available at tapfive.co
  • E-commerce storefronts — Including our websites and third-party marketplaces such as Amazon

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use any of our products, services, websites, or applications (collectively, "the Services").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account and profile information: Name, email address, phone number, social media links, and business information when you create an account or set up a TapSnap digital business card.
  • Purchase information: Name, shipping address, billing address, payment method details, and order history when you purchase TapFive or TapSnap products through our websites or third-party marketplaces.
  • Device setup information: Business name, Google review page URL, or other configuration data when you set up a TapFive NFC review device.
  • Communications: Information you provide when you contact our customer support team, respond to surveys, or communicate with us.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, interactions with our products, timestamps, and referring URLs.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and unique device identifiers.
  • NFC interaction data: Aggregated, anonymized tap and scan counts from TapFive and TapSnap devices (we do not track or identify the individuals who tap or scan your device).
  • Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies on our websites to enhance your experience and gather usage analytics. See Section 7 for details.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Marketplace data: When you purchase through Amazon or other third-party marketplaces, we receive order and shipping information as provided by that platform, including name, shipping address, and order details. Data received via marketplace APIs (such as the Amazon Selling Partner API) is collected solely for the purposes of order fulfillment, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
  • Payment processors: We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Shopify Payments) who handle your payment information. We do not store your full credit card number.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Fulfill and ship your orders
  • Set up and configure your TapFive or TapSnap devices
  • Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
  • Display your information on your TapSnap digital business card profile (only as you configure it, and only shared when you choose to network/connect with a new contact)
  • Communicate with you about orders, product updates, and customer support
  • Send marketing communications (only with your consent; you may opt out at any time)
  • Analyze usage trends and improve product performance
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: With trusted third-party vendors who help us operate our business (e.g., shipping carriers, payment processors, email service providers, cloud hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • Marketplace data restrictions: Personal information received from third-party marketplace APIs (including the Amazon Selling Partner API) is used exclusively for order fulfillment, customer service, and compliance purposes. This data is never used for unrelated marketing, advertising, or any purpose beyond the specific use case for which it was provided.
  • TapSnap networking: When you use TapSnap to connect with another user, the profile information you've chosen to share on your digital business card is disclosed to that contact. You control what information appears on your card.
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
  • Protection of rights: To protect the rights, property, or safety of TapSnap LLC, our users, or the public.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • We store your information on secure cloud servers (Google Cloud Platform and other industry-standard infrastructure).
  • All personal data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256 or equivalent). Data received from third-party marketplace APIs is subject to the same encryption standards.
  • We implement reasonable technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction.
  • Access to personally identifiable information (PII) is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • Despite our efforts, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Access, Correction, and Deletion

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Export your data (where technically feasible)

For TapSnap App users, many of these actions can be performed directly in the App settings. For all other requests, contact us at support@tapsnap.co.

5.2 Marketing Opt-Out

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or contacting us directly.

5.3 Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our websites.

5.4 California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and share, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 6. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. 9. NFC Device Privacy

9.1 TapFive Review Devices

TapFive NFC devices direct customers to your configured Google review page. The NFC interaction itself does not collect or transmit personal information about the person tapping or scanning the device. We may collect aggregated, anonymized tap/scan counts for analytics purposes.

9.2 TapSnap Digital Business Cards

TapSnap NFC cards display the profile information you have configured. When someone taps your TapSnap card, they see only the information you have chosen to share. Contact exchange only occurs when both parties consent to connect.

10. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using our Services, you consent to this transfer.

11. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. We may also retain information as required by law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email or through our Services.
